Quickie Reviews #3

Kingdom Hearts HD Remix

Kingdom Hearts is one of my favorite games of all time, so it’s no surprise that I giggled like a school girl at a One Direction concert when they announced they were bringing an HD version to PS3. The ability to relive the magic with updated graphics, trophies, and some new gameplay features sounded awesome, and the game does not disappoint.

Not all of the gameplay holds up, and the story gets more confusing now that I’m old enough to follow every detail, but the nostalgia is strong with this one. It’s going to take me a loooong time, but this is definitely a game that will be worth grinding out the platinum trophy.

-Disney + Final Fantasy
-this game is just so damn magical

-combat feels simple and dated
-three full playthroughs for the platinum

Sons of Anarchy – Season Three

Season Three of SoA has a lot going on. Jax’s son has been kidnapped, the ATF is still sniffing around SAMCRO, Gemma is on the run after being framed for murder, and that’s just how the season opens. But even with all of these plots intersecting with each other, nothing is ever too hard to follow and the show never feels like it’s moving too quickly.

If you’ve seen the first two seasons, season three absolutely keeps the intensity up while still delivering more backstory on Jax’s father and the history of the club.

-Ireland is a really cool setting
-everything about the finale is amazing

-takes too long to get us to Ireland
-Tara getting kidnapped seemed unnecessary
