10. Snorlax
Starting off the top 10 is a widely considered favorite Pokemon, Snorlax. He’s huge, he’s lazy, and he looks a bit like a panda bear. Snorlax is just so loveable. Except for when he blocks your way in the video games.

9. Zapdos
Zapdos is absolutely outstanding in the video game. Since he’s a dual Electric/Flying type, he isn’t weak to Electric the way most other flyers are, which is super useful. He learns awesome moves, he has a scary ass design, and he’s a legendary.

8. Dragonite
Dragonite is a tough Pokemon to get, due to the need to level up a Dratini and then Dragonair all the way to level 55. But for those patient enough to wait, he’s an awesome option for people sick of using Zapdos or wanting to experiment with Dragon types.

7. Hitmonlee
Hitmonlee is the best Fighting type Pokemon in the game. His moveset is absurdly awesome with moves like Jump Kick and Hi Jump Kick. His design is bizarre but cool, even though he has no mouth. And he gets plenty of screen time in the tv show.

6. Gyarados
It takes a lot of patience to get a Gyarados. It starts as a Magikarp, who doesn’t learn an offensive move until level 15, and then doesn’t evolve until level 20. On the other hand, you can just dump it at the Pokemon Day Care and reap the rewards with a fantastic Water/Flying type.

5. Jolteon
Jolteon cracks the top 5 for several reasons. The design and name are solid, if not amazing. But he learns awesome Electric and Normal moves, and even Pin Missile, which is highly useful against Psychic types. Jolteon is a great option for people playing competitively.

4. Blastoise
Blastoise has one of my favorite designs. He looks completely badass with the cannons coming out of his shell, and yet he seems so nonchalant and even sarcastic about it. He’s almost always drawn with a smirk on his face, and it’s very fitting. Plus he can learn Ice Beam and Blizzard, the best Ice moves.

3. Mew
Mew is the absolute rarest Pokemon in the game, since it can’t even be caught except for under special circumstances. That makes it take the number three spot, since number two is more easily catchable. Still, the design is cute and he’s a major part of the first Pokemon movie.

2. Mewtwo
Mewtwo gets the edge over Mew because he’s actually able to be caught in the wild, and almost everyone saves their Master Ball until they can catch him. I think the name is a bit lame, but that’s really the only thing to complain about in what might be the strongest Pokemon ever.

1. Charizard
It probably won’t come as a surprise that Charizard takes the top spot. Mewtwo is an awesome Pokemon, but Charizard is near perfect in every category. His only deductions come because the design is not quite different enough from a regular dragon, and the name, while good, isn’t one of my favorites. Still, he’s a complete badass in every single way.

Whew, that was a doozy. Hopefully, you (mostly) agree with the list! And if you don’t? Make your own! But you better use irrefutable science. Pokemon is a very serious thing, for very serious people. Thanks for reading!
